Intro

This is the only place that Jehovah-Jireh is mentioned.
But we see God’s provision everywhere.
Provide - to collect or make ready for future use. To furnish or supply.
This Scripture is a type and shadow of how God provided salvation through his Son at Calvary.

Provision of a Son (vs.2)

Isaac was the promised son to Abraham.

19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Christ is the promised Son of God.

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

King James Version (Chapter 7)
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you wa sign;Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son,And shall call his name Immanuel. (GOD WITH US)

Provision of a Sacrifice (vs.7-8)

Isaac didn’t know that Abraham was fixing to offer him up to God. But Christ knew from the foundation of the world that He would be the sacrifice that would be pleasing unto God.

Provision of a Substitute (vs.13)

The death that we should’ve died, was freely taken by Christ as a our substitute, so we could go free.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Isaiah 53:5–6 KJV 1900
But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; And the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
2 Corinthians 8:9 KJV 1900
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Conclusion

The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ was preached to Abraham years before Christ went to Calvary.

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

Point is, if God is concerned about man’s soul to provide salvation through his only begotten Son, why wouldn’t he provide for everything else in your life?

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

I have been young, and now am old;

Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,

Nor his seed begging bread.
