Who is God? Hallelujah, welcome here. If you miss my first welcomed the second one is just as hard felt. Glad you're here this morning. Hey man, it's no mistake. You're here this morning you believe that there's a reward for making time for the Lord. There's a reward. He's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him a man. So some of you it took the villages to get here this morning and then you had to get up yet to get ready, had to get things in place so that you can be in church on Sunday morning. Hey man, and God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. So I hope you came ready to receive a reward this morning a man. It's not what it says, so we should expect a reward. Hey man, from his word, which is truth and pure. Amen, hallelujah. Well, I'm not going to preach this morning so I'm sure you guys have heard enough of me for a while anyway. Amen, know a man's love good, that's good. Praise God. But no we have our brother and, and the newly-appointed Elder Kevin is going to come and share the word with us this morning. Why don't you guys give Jesus a nice handclap as he comes? Amen.

I'm just a little guy. You know, the mic stand is the right height, but this thing being up here makes me look like I need a mic stand that this day.

Sunday school children. Go to church.

Be blessed.

Well, good morning church.

I love this church.

This morning, I'm going to share with you, the Lord, put on my heart, and it the title of my message. Today is hear the word and accept it.

So turn your Bibles to Mark 4. We'll get there in a minute, but I'm going to I'm going to share a little background to hear because it's kind of if you, if you think about it it's kind of Almost funny anyway. So it marks 3. Jesus goes to church. He's at the synagogue. And the Pharisees didn't really like him. So they were looking for ways to basically calling out for doing something wrong, get him in trouble, ways to hurt him. And there's a guy in church with a messed up hand, that was all withered and and he couldn't use it totally unusable. And so they they were watching very closely. watching Jesus to see if you would, if you would heal this guy on the Sabbath because that was somehow that was wrong for a guy to get healed in church.

And so Jesus knew what they were doing. But of course, I think I kind of think, you know, Jesus like to do some of that stuff sometimes just to let me know. He's going to do it cuz it's right. But I think he also sort of enjoyed the conflict a little bit with those guys. So Jesus heals this guy and it says that the Pharisees immediately started plotting with the herodians to destroy him.

It's sort of like when Jesus said to them, I've done many, many good works of four. Which one are you still need me? So okay, so these down at church now that the the religious leaders are going to destroy him. So he leaves his synagogue and he starts walking down the street and there's so many people, I think one of the reasons they hated Jesus because everybody else loved him. And they want it's not for themselves but there's so many people pressing into or Jesus trying to get to him. That Jesus says to see one of his disciples, you better go get a boat or they're going to crush us.

so, after that, No. That's that's the stage, right? There's a huge crowd. The next thing that happens. Is demon possessed people. As he walks down the street. Demon possessed, people will throw themselves on the ground and go. You are the son of God.

so then, After that. He was he was just trying to go have lunch right after church. You you leave church, you go have lunch. He was going to try to have lunch. So now he's now he's having lunch, he's trying to have lunch and everybody pressed as in to where he is. There's so many people that he can't even says in the Bible says he can't even eat bread.

And his people heard about that and they said he's out of his mind. The Pharisees said.

It's still better than having a cord though.

So the Pharisees say so Jesus is people say he's crazy, we got to go get him, we got to take him out of here cuz he's he's nuts his own people and then the Pharisee say he's casting out demons by the ruler ruler of demons. He's he's working with Satan.

And then Jesus Jesus's response to all of this stuff going on is let's go back to the Sea. I'm going to preach You can't make that up. This is like a day in the life of Jesus. In his ministry, has to Mark 4. And Jesus is in the boat that he told him to get cuz he knew he was going to go preach. And he knew there was going to be a lot of people. So now he's in the boat. They told him to go get, he's out on the sea and he says, listen behold the sower went out to sow and it happened. As he showed that some seed fell by the wayside and the birds of the air came and devoured it. Some fell on the Stony ground where did not have much are Earth, and immediately, it sprang up because it had no depth of Earth. But when the sun was up, it was scorched because it had no root it withered away and some seed fell among thorns and the Thorns grew up and choked it. And it yielded no crop. But other seed fell on good ground and yielded. A crop that spring up, increase and produced some 30-fold, some 60 and some 100.

So what was Jesus's teaching about? You don't, you know that saying where people say, you know, there's two kinds of people in the world and then they say, two kinds of people and somebody else will have another one that's two kinds of people. There seems to be a hundred different versions of two kinds of people in the world. Jesus is basically saying there's four kinds of hearts in the world. And he's talking about the condition of people's hearts.

The first. The first time the word was on there that it didn't, it didn't get a chance to do anything in that hard.

The second time it's spring up right away, but I got burnt and just got burnt and it just it had nothing in it couldn't live.

The third was kind of like my garden.

It was full of weeds and missed opportunities.

That hinder the growth right last year in our garden. It was so hot last year and we don't really have. I mean, I have to string 6 garden hoses together to get them. I got So, we didn't water that much cuz it's a lot of work. And I posted on Facebook a picture of our cornrows last year because they were just completely overtaken by weeds. And I said, an enemy has done this.

That's what my garden was like last year. And that's like, that's the heart. That's what that's the condition of that heart where it where Thorns grew up in, just choked it. You know, we're going to talk about that in a second. The force was like, Eden's Garden.

She brought Edith and Val brought us pails full of stuff this year which which helps with the stuff that we lost in our garden and it was excellent. Right, you can tell that the garden was taken care of in, that Garden was ready to produce and It produced well.

But you see it's the same seed in all four cases, the same seed. So, it's not the sea, that's the problem. Sometimes, we sold a whole bunch of corn this year. That didn't you just never came up.

I mean all the other stuff came up. So there must have been the seed must have been the problem there. Cuz it wasn't like my garden couldn't couldn't support the life for corn to come up. We had just but we had dozens of them that never came up. There was something wrong with the seat but this is the same seat every time in four different parts.

And only one producer Harvest Church. God wants a harvest.

There's only one result in this Parable, that's that is God's will. That is acceptable and pleasing to God.

Like I said, it's the same seed. So who controls who controls the heart, who controls your heart? We control our we are, we're responsible for the condition of our hearts. So that when the word soon, we can produce a harvest.

So that's what Jesus taught. And then after that sermon like I'm sure his disciples were all a man and you know, all that well it was going on. But after the service the disciples when they got in private with him, the day was done. They said what were you talking about?

Silver 13. And he said to them, Jesus said to them, do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? The sower, soweth the word. Now, that's a big right there. The sower, soweth the word, what? The Bible says, faith comes by hearing.

So who's this, or this or is the sores a preacher, right? So where's when you go to church on Sunday and you and you hear a word, that's the store, but the sores are also showing is also when you, when you read the word of God, When you have your devotions, when you listen to the word of God, when you listen to preaching, when the Holy Spirit, put the scripture in your heart, that's all showing the word.

There's fifteen and these are the ones by the wayside where the word assume, when they hear Satan comes immediately and takes away. The word that was sown in their hearts. Like, these likewise are the one stone on Stony ground, who, when they hear the word immediately receive it with gladness. And they have no root in themselves. And so endure, for a Time afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word sake. Immediately, they stumble, Now, these are the one stone among Thorns. They are the ones who hear the word and the cares of this life. The deceitfulness of riches and the desire for other things, entering, in choke the word and it becomes unfruitful, but these are the ones showing on good ground, those who hear the word accept it, and bear fruit. Some 30 fold, some 60. And some 100. Same word. Every time. Same seed, different Harvest. Only one, produces a harvest, only one produces.

A return.

30 fold. Is the minimum return? That's pretty good return. So that the word of God is the word of God is powerful to produce. Right. It's our hearts that determine whether or not a produces and how much it produces. I don't know what the difference is between the 34 guy in the hunter full guy,

I'd like to write. I'd like to so that I can always be the hunter full guy but you know, if we could just if we could just produce a harvest every time

Every time the word assume you know, God wants a harvest. Every time you hear the word of God,

Every time.

Hey, so we're going to take these one at a time. Number one of the Wayside. these are people that are like, Kind of easy targets for Satan, I think. Maybe it's because they're not. Maybe it's because they're not totally, like totally committed to God and just kind of on the periphery and maybe just a little unsure or whatever. But it's basically like It's basically like the word is sewn into them and and right away the Devil comes and says that's not true. Don't believe that your give it to me and we're like Okay.

Immediately comes to take it so that it doesn't even have a chance to do anything.

Satan has asked by CNN's ratings been doing that since the very beginning of History by casting doubt on God's faithfulness on whether or not you can trust God, telling the truth. Whether you can trust the word of God. Right? The Garden of Eden. What did you say? Did God say, was the first time Satan's basically stole the word.

He just he just tries to make you not believe God.

but you know what, I think if we had a

I think if we had a better maybe respect us, not the right word but a better understanding of Who's talking to you when the word of God is when it when the word of God Is So Into You heart. Who's talking to you? It's God. It's all Mighty God.

So, it doesn't have to. It doesn't have to make the with the way this world does things. God if you'd noticed guys, God does not do things the same way. The world does things. So if you have it in the word of God, it's you know we got to we got to get past caring, what the world thinks. If it's in the word of God, we have to go with that every time to produce the results. God wants a harvest every time number to Stony ground. So basically, these are people that are fired up for God. Right in the be to get, maybe, get saved in your fired up. Forgot, I'm going to live for God forever and then You stuff happens in life. I've noticed life can produce some difficult stuff. For me anyway. When I get when, I think about the Stony ground people, I think about me trying to run a 400-meter Dash. That's what came to me. When I was thinking about this. I got a guy could be all fired up in the blocks in the gun goes, and I'm, and I'm going as hard as I can. But at about M 63, when I can't breathe, and I'm thirsty and everything. You're going to see me like this. And I'm done. That's what happens to people in their Christian walk and then you got to get back up and you got it. You know, you got to get the word in any again and you got to you got to try again, right? But part of the reason, part of the reason, the hardest Stony ground is because we're not getting enough word. I was talking to, I was talking to somebody or family, that is a Christian and we were talking about some things that they're going through stuff and I said they would like You do a 20 minutes a day to read the Bible? It's not enough. You don't and you can't, I know you can't sit there for 3 hours a day and read the Bible and pray. But I mean

The phone in your pocket has every you can listen to just about every sermon Kenneth Hagin ever preach on your phone.

I mean between him and R W Schambach and Jonathan Shuttlesworth. I got more preaching than I could ever listen to

And that I that puts more word into me. Then I could I could never stay awake long enough to sit and read the Bible. If I'm going to be honest with you for that long you know I studied the Bible everyday. I try to read the Bible every day but I I for sure, listen to preaching everyday.

I haven't, but I do not have a kind of TV, I have like a 40-minute commute to the city, so there you go. I got a message in on the way in. I get a message while I'm driving around. I got another one on the way home. I get a lot of preaching every day because Of the technology we have imagined when you used to have to sit down at a desk with a lamp. And that's only what you can do. And Sunday mornings. The only way you can Where Dan, you?

And then tapes came that must have been like revolutionary, right? Yeah, cassette tapes. I used to buy those at church.

then CDs was, you know, but Now podcast YouTube. Every, every, every major ministry that's out there right now, today has apps that you can listen to every message. They preach every prayer service they do. It's all on YouTube, you know, that's how you avoid being Stony ground.

This is this this one reminds me of like a few chapters later and Mark, eat where Jesus said, whoever desire. Whoever wants to follow me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me because Stony ground. Also is, is an issue with giving up the old, the old life Sometimes it's giving up the things that you liked in the old life that that, you know, now or soon, sometimes it's giving up. It's giving up the stuff that you did before that you regret. You got to let you know to give that up too.

Because you're forgiven your Christian, you're born again, your, your, your new creation. You are now the righteousness of God in Christ. You're forgiven old things have passed away all become new Dover. It's new now.

Number three is Thorns three parts to this. The cares of this life, the deceitfulness of riches and the desire for other things. And you think about that for a second? that wraps it all at like everything's included in the

cares of this life that has to do with. Provision. Insecurity in your life, right? The, the Greek word. Karis is also translated anxiety. So that's the anxieties of this life, think about the anxieties of your life for a second. You got bills. Do you don't have enough money?

Health problems, family problems Church problems.

cares of this life, maybe the organized crime family, we called the government of Canada Right. Taking all your guns now.

you know, when you're when you're full of like when you're so weighed down, by that stuff, there's just not enough room in that hard for

Her face the girl.

never felt that when you hear the word and you feel Faith rise up in you in your spirit, right? But if your spirit is, if you're so if you're so, if you're under so much pressure and weight, that you don't That you can't seem to let the Lord. Take the Bible says, cast all your cares on the Lord but I know it's hard cuz I got to do it all the time and I'm not always good at it. But if you're under so much weight, it's hard for the the word to become fruitful. It's hard because it requires belief. And it's hard to. It's hard when you're under that much pressure, you know, but it's not impossible. Cuz of God all things are possible.

But that's a big one. That cares of this life, we all have that stuff. I don't care if you're rich cuz they'll most people it has to do with provision a lot of times, right? Cuz it's not easy out there. Look at inflation, my mortgage payments in Ghana. I, I was at 2.45%. They have my percent has doubled cuz I'm on a variable.

So, I'm not impressed with that and it's not easy. but it's okay because Because my God owns it all.

You know what, the one of the best things that I wanted them things. I love the most in the Bible where God shows that shows God's just how big God is and, and how, and with things like provision and stuff like that is, God said, if I would, God said if I was hungry, I wouldn't tell you. I love that. is it basically is like Just relax. You know, I got I own it all and now you're my son so Blocks.

The cares of this life will choke out the work. Deceitfulness of riches.

Is a big topic. This has to do with a false sense of security, there's people that have money, lots of it, and it is their secure, it's their identity, if their security all that, right? Like we know that money has a way of making people think that they don't need God. forum, for people that aren't for people that are walking really Walking with God, though, For a true Christian. That shouldn't be the case. We should see that. I'm going to hit that in a minute, but we should see that as As an asset on God's balance sheet. Not my balance sheet.

But the deceitfulness of riches when people get rich, especially if they, they earned that money, you know what I mean? Like, they became successful and they say, like the it says, in Deuteronomy said, be careful that when you have find houses to live in and all that the you don't say, look up, look what I've done.

Be careful that you remember the Lord?

A lot of people can't handle very, I think, well, maybe not very few, but a lot of people can handle large amounts of money early. If you like one of those say, if you won the lottery or something, right? And you came into a large amount of money in a very short period of time, there's a lot of people that that'll kill, it'll kill him.

And there's a lot of people that it'll push it it will it will if they're not if they're not really rooted in God and if they're not producing, if they're weird, isn't producing is a harvest in their heart all the time. That it will, it will cause them to look and say We'll look, I don't I don't need anybody. It might be true that you don't need anybody but you need God.

The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil.

And church often says, money is the root of all evil. But the love of money is the root of all evil. If you believe that money is the root of all evil. You can make a check out to Kevin cross and I will happily take it from me and use it to pay my bills. Yes, but also for the work of the ministry.

The reason the love of money is the root of all evil is because it's a spirit. Think about all the terrible things that people do for money. People steal from their own parents or the kids. Why is Heather husband killed for insurance money, right? What are the Penguins drugs? I mean Yeah, guys, I went looked at I went looked at two properties today. This week, this last week that were seized by the federal government 4. For being purchased with the proceeds of crime. And so I went and looked at and that's drugs. So I wouldn't look at this acreage west of the city. That's on the way to bed Square acreage. Really nice house to huge Quonset so you know and they were done it like in floor heat and bathroom in there, everything, right? This guy know, this guy must not have much of a brain because what he did with that, to try to protect his drug Empire, is he put 6 ft of chain, link fence, and barbed wire around the whole 68. And I showed up and that's the way I was nothing conspicuous here at all.

Like why would you do that? You so the doors all busted you see where the RCMP when it was their big RAM and destroyed the door, right? And that's the love of money. They don't care that they're killing people with that stuff. Cuz they love money.

Human trafficking.

You're not that's not, that's not a human behavior. That's a spiritual thing.

You don't get that Wicked on your own. The spiritual thing. Evil.

But Christians don't handle money that way.

Hey, let's do something here. That's fun. I do this. Let's just imagine that you go home today. After church for lunch after lunch, for the potluck, you go home. And in your mailbox is a check with your name on it for 10 million dollars. What are you doing with it?

What's the first thing you would do with 10 million?

That's it. first thing I would do, first thing I would do, I would deposit it

and I, you know what, just for fun, I would totally deposit it with my phone. I just see what happens. To see if they like Claritin tint in 2 business days or if I get a phone call from the bank, or what, what's going to happen, right? Cuz I have never experienced having that kind of money. But that's it. Second thing I would do is I would go to the bank and I would get my tie.

And that roof would never leak again.

You know, the tithe is the tithe is how he is. One of the ways that you make sure that you don't suffer from the Love of Money. God's got pretty smart. He put that in place so that you could have a way with your money
