He Knows Me

Anyone have the ability to mind read?
I was texting my sister this week and thought I should ask her a question about the bible and to only find out I read her mind.
Even my father and me have a weird mind-reading ability where when we go for lunch, we often suggest the same place at the same time.
Like anyone have those weird things where they can do that?
Know my Thoughts
Psalm 139:1–6 NIV
You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
We read this we know that God knows you completely. That he knows exactly who you are.
God is Omnipotent, that means he has all the power, he can do anything.
He knows you because he is omnipotent, he is in complete control and that he has the knowledge of who you are maybe even better then you know yourself.
He is like your best friend, someone who gets you, that they know tons of random facts about you.
But God,
He gets you,
He knows your thoughts, that what you have hopes and dreams and expectations to do, he already knows what they are.
He knows your plans for the day before you stated them, although that may seem scary it’s actually beautiful, that we would be loved so much by God that he would know our moves before we make them.
Know my Words
That he would even know our words before we speak them. What ever we want to say God has already responded to it.
You do not even need to speak because he already knows your needs or wants. That you would not need to say a word but just receive his blessing.
Imagine this, that you are about to come to the lord and pray but even before hand God goes and already awnsers our prayers!
*You maybe asking why would I then go to God in pray?
If he already is going to awnser it before I speak then why should I even pray?
Well that is the relationship peice with God*
However this expands our relationship, that we have such a great relationship with God that we have that kind of relational telepathy that twins or spouses have.
God before and behind
all in all God knows us because he is Omnipotent. He is all knowing and all powerful that he knows all about us and even more to that is that he has already prepared the way, and he is helping us along the path.
Psalm 139:5 NIV
You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
He is the God who has made a way and supports his children on the path.
Hem me in Behind meaning that knitting metaphor of that he was sealed up the stitching and that there is no gaps in the fabric, that wherever you go that God has already patched up where you have been, in the sense of there is no turning back.
Even as we walk forward he has created this prefect picture of direction. See the Psalmist is like a great designer of a blanket, one of those blankets that tell as story.
He has already put down the story of the past, all that has happened, even if you felt he was not around he was, he was writing and patching up all the pieces. Just as he will continue to do as the story continues to get written into the the fabric.
God is all things and in all those things he is for you.

He is With Me

Not only does he know you, but he is with you.
Let me read this passage from the ESV:
Psalm 139:7–12 ESV
Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.
High’s or lows God is with you
Serious question asked by the Psalmist, where can we go from the Spirit? Where is a place where we are away from his presence?
Nowhere, if the Psalmist just said that the whole first 6 verses are about how God is omnipotent and in control of his entire life, then we must also see that in this deep and great relationship there is no breaking point.
That ultimently we are never in a situation here on earth where God is not with us, may that be in the best of days or if we ascend to heaven, in our faith we rise up and we truly feel like we are connected with God he is there.
Or if we go and put our bed in Sheol.
If your bed is in Sheol
When it says we put our bed in Sheol, we must see it as what Sheol is:
The top three translations of the NIV Bible is that Sheol is:
The Grave
Realm of the dead
Death
All in all, the Psalmist says that if we put our bed in hell or in the grave, God is still with you. Is there anywhere where God the creator is not with you?
No!
If he is with you in the heights of heaven he is with you in the depths of hell.
Verse 11 even says that if darkness is everywhere God still shines.
He does not want you to resicde and remain in the dark or in the Sheol, but rather that you would be lifted by him out of those depths and be rescued.
But know that however long you remain there in Sheol, that God has not left or abandoned you. When you are at rock bottom, God is with you.

He Made Me

Why? becuase he created you, again like I said 2 weeks ago, you are his child. He loves those he made,
Psalm 139:13–18 NIV
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.
He was there while you where being formed in your moms womb, even more is that he was the one forming you.
The creator of the world has perfectly stitched you together with his own hands and spent his time and energy to make you.
How wonderful that you are made by God
You in all that you are, may that be imperfections, or perfections are created by the one who is above all, before all, and for all.
Psalm 139:14 NIV
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
So let us praise God for we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
That who we are in whatever we look like, however we are in our personalities, in our being are made by one who is perfect in all his ways.
That all that we are in our very birth, that we are created to have fellowship with the creator. We can praise him because we know that in our very beginnings he created us to look like him (Imago dei).
God made you to have fellowship with him.
You are unique because he wonderfully and fearfully made you to be you.
Maybe that is funny - Smart - Outgoing - Inververted - Chill - Super Hype - With Pimples - Without Facial Hair - Red Hair or Blue.
Your foundation of who you are should be that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by God whose works are wonderful!
Even more to add on that Psalm 139:15
Psalm 139:15 NIV
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Even if you do not know who you are, God knows who you are. He created you and sees you for who you are.
What does that mean for you?
God is so for you that he made you and will never leave you.
Well here is my challenge for you this week
I want you to take this week and tell yourself that God is with you
Tell others that God is with them this week
Put it in your Insta Bio
But tell someone each day, can be the same can be different, tell them that God is with them in what ever they are going through.
However I want you to take away from this series point is that God is our foundation. Even before we have started following him, he has been the foundation of who we are, each in our unique circumstances are created by God, to be loved by God and love God.
Who knows you the best? (God doesn’t count)
What does it mean that: “God knows all about you”
What does it mean that: “God is always with you”
What does it mean that: “you are Fearfully and Wonderfully made”
Who can you tell that God is with them this week?
How can you remind yourself that God is with you this week?
