“BUT GOD …” PART 2

• His name was Joseph. For 13 years, from the age of 17 to 30, he experienced many ups and downs, suffering and joy, peace and anxiety, etc. Through it all, Joseph came out with a powerful “But God …” testimony.

He learned a principle that still holds true today.

The “But God” Principle

  • In this world, we will experience evil, suffering, and tribulation. But God works in all of these situations to bring about what fulfills His good purpose for those who love Him.

Genesis 50:20

Romans 8:28

The Principle in Joseph’s Life:

1. Two constants.

    • a. God’s ________________________________
    • b. Joseph’s ______________________________

2. Different Intentions.

3. Understanding over time.

4. Romans 8:28 Truth.

- Romans 8:28-

We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (NAS)

We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them. (NLT)

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to His purpose (CSB) (KJV)

APPLICATION:
