Reaching for Real Renewal

Has it been a long hard season for you?
We have all walked through one of the most trying, most difficult seasons that this generation has faced
Pandemic
Unrest in our communities
Are you hear looking to be refreshed
The term the NIV translates “renewal” (14:14) may be rendered “transformation.”
Renew- changed - Made new
We all need true change in our lives
Job 14:7-14
“Even a tree has more hope!If it is cut down, it will sprout again and grow new branches.8 Though its roots have grown old in the earth and its stump decays,9 at the scent of water it will bud and sprout again like a new seedling.10 “But when people die, their strength is gone. They breathe their last, and then where are they? 11 As water evaporates from a lake and a river disappears in drought,12 people are laid to rest and do not rise again.Until the heavens are no more, they will not wake up nor be roused from their sleep.13 “I wish you would hide me in the grave and forget me there until your anger has passed. But mark your calendar to think of me again!14 Can the dead live again? If so, this would give me hope through all my years of struggle, and I would eagerly await the release of death.
Job here combined the pleas of his two previous prayers
He was saying that he was both mortal and God’s creation
But…he was sharing his frustration that it seemed that even trees that have been cut down get the opportunity to be made new...
To get a restart
Who has ever wanted a do over…the opportunity to start over, to start fresh?
I have good News for you…we get a fresh start in Christ
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Do not lose heart
Do not worry, do not be concerned about the things going on around you

V:18 These things are temporary…short lived
Our Outward man is perishing
Our ability and strength is limited and dwindling
the inward man is being renewed day by day
Pastor/Leader I want you to know that Jesus is more concerned about the renewal of your heart that the rebuilding of your church
This is eternal....
So what is our source of life
1 Peter 1:24-25
All flesh is as grass,And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers,And its flower falls away,25But the word of the LORD endures forever.”
ITS HIS WORD....IT CONTAINS ALL WE NEED FOR LIFE AND GODLINESS
2 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
