Partial obedience is disobedience.
Illus--The child’s partial obedience
A young boy was told to take the trash out. He did. He took it right outside the door and left the bag there. His intentions was to take the bag to the outdoor trash can later before he went to bed.
Forgetting to take the trash bag to the can, the young boy went to sleep. He was woke up the next morning by his parents who were prepared to punish him. Why? Because during the night a stray dog came along went through the bag and scattered trash all through the yard.
Partial obedience is disobedience. The parents instructed him to take the trash out as he had done before, only this time his partial obedience made a mess for his home and the neighbors.
Here are the PROBLEMS of partial obedience:

Freedom to go anywhere.
Fellowship with anybody.
Familiar surroundings.
What to expect in the boat.
Limited freedom.

Here in Luke 5:1-11.
Then in Matthew 17:24-27.
After the resurrection in John 21:3-10.
All 3 have some things in common:
No one expected a miracle but was waiting on the works of men’s hands that never came.
Every time it was after man’s efforts were exhausted the Lord worked
It was the Lord that provided and supplied
Are you obedient to the Lord Jesus Christ?
