Jesus has taught many things about the coming Kingdom of God, now he will show that through his work just how close this kingdom is!
All these miracles demonstrate that he is the one sent from God and will culminate in his greatest work he does on the cross of calvary.
This first sign of four show that he not only Lord over individuals for healings but also Lord over very nature.
This is a test of faith for the disciples wether they will trust him even in storms
Jesus is the example of perfect faith
What is perfect faith
Not just trusting in one area but full confidence in God for all things
Resting in the power of God and his sovereign control in our life
Jesus demonstrated this while he slept on the pillow during a raging storm
He knew his father was guiding the ship he was in
He trust God’s plan for his life
The Disciples lack this perfect faith
They doubt God’s goodness and care of them
They could not sense the presence of God with them

“Where were you while I was scared?”
I was the breath you heard keeping all danger away from you through the night!
They doubt God’s ability to protect them in the storm
Why are you so fearful?
Later these disciples would be sitting in prison and would remember back to this day.
Just because everything looks terrifying does not mean that it is.
ONLY TRUST!
Jesus is worthy of our perfect faith
Jesus commands even the wind and the sea

Jesus is truly God in flesh
The disciples leave the fear of the storm and come to fear the one more powerful than the storm
We as well must learn to have perfect faith in Christ as God over all
You trust Jesus for your salvation, do you trust him with your day to day life?
It may be that very thing you are afraid of or worried about is what God is using in your life right now to protect you or help you.
ONLY TRUST!
