Good morning Church!
Announcements:
11/13/2022 - Business Meeting
We have also decided to team up with Lighthouse Christian Camp this winter for their Christmas Missions Project. We will be taking up unwrapped Christmas presents for boys, girls, and even adults. These gifts will all be placed in their gymnasium with price tags. The kids are given so much monopoly money to buy gifts when they arrive, but so much of their money has to be spent on someone else within their family. They are given large trash bags to go around and collect/or buy, the gifts that they want. The kids are also fed in the fellowship hall and then also read the Christmas story by local pastors while there.
All donations are due by Sunday, November 13th. See flyer in foyer for gift ideas.
They also welcome volunteers to help with the children during these events as well, so please let me know if you are interested in serving during this Christmas Missions Project.

As we stated last week, we have entered into the last section of our series. We are currently looking into the topic of missions/evangelism.
As we continue, I wanted to take a few weeks and simply address some of the things that we say to ourselves internally when thinking about missions.
Today, I want us to look at someone in scripture that we are all very familiar with. We are going to look at a man named Moses. Most of you know him as the mighty man of God that commanded Pharoah to let God’s people go and for parting the red sea, but have you ever heard the story of how it all began? Do you know what Moses said when God called him into the ministry?

Context

Moses was born during a murderous time. His people, the Israelites, had been in bondage for many years and their ruler was none other than Pharoah, king of Egypt. This man was absolutely ruthless.
He had seen how God was blessing the Israelites, even in the midst of persecution, so he decided to bring the house down even more. He had given the command that every male child born unto the Israelites was to be instantly killed.
When Moses was born, his mother just could not think of doing that, so she decided to put him into God’s hands instead. She knew she could not keep him, for he would be found, so she built a wooden basket, waterproofed it and floated Moses down the river. She did not know if she would ever see him again, but she knew that he at least had a chance. Who knew that the person who would found him and would fall into love with him would be Pharoah’s daughter?
For the first 40 years of his life, Moses grew up in Pharoah’s house. He was considered royalty by every since of the word, but he knew inside, that this was not his people. Moses knew that he was an Israelite. One day he is out taking a stroll and sees one of his kinsmen being beaten by an Egyptian soldier. Moses tried to stop him but they ended up in a fight. When it was all said and done, Moses had killed the soldier. For fear of his life, he ran away and stayed at his father-in-law’s house in Midian. For the next 40 years, Moses lived as a farmer tending to his father-in-law’s animals.
This gets us up to speed on where we are in the text. From that backdrop, we will begin reading in Exodus 3:1-10.

Moses’ Confirmation

I Will Be With You (Exodus 3:12)
Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
No, But They Will Believe Me (Exodus 4:5)
1 Corinthians 1:26–29 NKJV
26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.
Did I Not Create You? (Exodus 4:11-12)
Ephesians 3:20–21 NKJV
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
I Will Teach You!! (Exodus 4:15)
2 Corinthians 2:14–15 NKJV
14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

Commitment

As we come to a close, would you bow with me in prayer?
If you have never given your heart fully to Christ, you need to do that today. I can promise you on the authority of God’s Word that he will save you if you sincerely seek His face. If you want to be saved, simply pray, “Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. My sin deserves judgment, but I need mercy. I open my heart now. I turn from my sin. I take my place at Your feet, my blessed Redeemer Husband, my Heavenly Boaz. I give you my heart and my life forever”...
Say, “Pastor, I can’t remember all of that.” Well just pray this: “Lord Jesus, come into my heart, and forgive me, and save me. Save me, Jesus.” Pray that from you heart.
Those of you who are already saved, would you say, “Lord, teach me how to draw near; teach me how to draw near to You, and to know You intimately. In Your name I pray, Amen.”
