1 Samuel 30:1–8 ESV
1 Now when David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had made a raid against the Negeb and against Ziklag. They had overcome Ziklag and burned it with fire 2 and taken captive the women and all who were in it, both small and great. They killed no one, but carried them off and went their way. 3 And when David and his men came to the city, they found it burned with fire, and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. 4 Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep. 5 David’s two wives also had been taken captive, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel. 6 And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. 7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David. 8 And David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue after this band? Shall I overtake them?” He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake and shall surely rescue.”
1 Samuel 16-20
Welcome to Ziklag introduction. 4 Things About Ziklag
Why is hell mad?
Because of Christ’s Victory on the Cross.
Colossians 2:14–15 (ESV)
[14] by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.
[15] He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
Triumphing over them. The image is of a triumphal Roman military procession. The defeated king with all of his surviving warriors and the spoils of war were paraded through the streets of Rome, as a public spectacle for all to see.
1 Corinthians 2:6–8 (ESV)
[6] Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away.
[7] But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.
[8] None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Rulers of this age - A reference to earthly rulers as the Jewish chief priests and the Roman procurator Pilate who sentenced Jesus to die.
“It was the will of man that bound Jesus up, not the will of the devil.” - Pastor Bobo
Because Christ has given us authority.
Luke 10:18–19 (ESV) [18] And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. [19] Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
Acts 1:8 (ESV) - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Fire Beetle Christians:
Are those who are not living for this world. Are those not afraid of the fire. Are those who turned the world upside down (ACTS 17:6).
Lastly: Because the devil knows he has a short time.
Revelation 12:12 (ESV) - Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”
2. When Hell Gets Mad!
First of all, hell gets mad when it looks like the devil has a sure victory and God takes it back supernaturally at the last minute.
When God Wants the Glory for Himself Read Judges 7:13-22 (ESV)
When God Takes Matters into His Own Hands.
Hebrews 10:30–31 (ESV)
[30] For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
[31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
3. How You Make Hell Mad.
When You Keep Trusting God.
Psalm 34:19 (ESV) - Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
When You Get Restored.
Job 42:10 (ESV) - And the LORD restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
When You Cast Out Demons and display the power of God.
Acts 16:20 (ESV) - And when they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men are Jews, and they are disturbing our city.
Conclusion: “It’s Time To Make Hell Mad!!!!!
