Intro- MARK 10:1-12- // What can we get away with? - If nothing immediate happens, we’re good.

Peter - Mark. Up to speed w the story. Getting more pointed about content.
Jesus V Pharisees. The ones who talk/make complicated/the ones who just get it done.
Prov 14:23- In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.

Radio - guy with the flat tire. - Just get out and get it done.

Biblical Marriage - this is God’s design and there’s no room for any other consideration

My question is this → WHY ARE WE SO CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT WE CAN GET AWAY WITH?

So much of our operative mentality is how close to sin we can get without touching it.

When it comes to our relationship with Christ, why wouldn’t we want to honor him so much that we have a difficult time identifying sin because we see so much truth, holiness and righteousness?

The Genesis account of organized relationship. Ge 2. He created them male and female. The design of creation was perfect until something corrupted it with temptation.
Since that time, we’ve been wandering around, touching things wondering what’s going to happen.

What exactly did God say and how close to that can we get?

Youth group question- How far is too far?

When I know the Law of the Lord, I know the lines in which I should live my life.

Paul - all things are permissible (1Cor6) - He’s talking about the things that are not specifically defined.
For everything else there are clear parameters.
So the question posed- Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife? // What Can we get away with?
ask different questions! Why even discuss the issue of divorce in the first place? complicates everything?
Don’t you realize that the separation of what God said was permanent was going to cause enormous issues, not just to you two, but for everyone else involved too?

Watching movie other day celebrating normalcy of divorce. 1 family - lots of parents involved

Without the pursuit of Christ, marriage is going to be the toughest thing to accomplish for a lifetime.

Without the pursuit of Christ anything is going to be different/difficult/tough.

Pursuit of Christ is THE Most important facet of our lives.

There are so many things in our perspective that we keep away from Christ simply because we’re afraid he’s going to tell us no, you can’t be involved in that/with that/about that.

Afraid of the NO. I’ll just do it and we’ll avoid the NO. << KEYS BEGINNING>>

We need to see Christ is the protector rather than the dictator who tells us no you can’t.

The health of the church directly connects to the health of the marriages that comprise it.

As marriage goes, so goes the church.

If our marriages are weak and anemic so will our church be also.

what does that mean to the person who’s not married? 1 Cor 7:32-35-
REPENTANCE - GOD I’VE MESSED IT UP ALREADY
GRATITUDE - GOD, THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME THE PATTERN, HELP ME TO TRUST YOU IN FOLLOWING IT, KNOWING THAT YOUR PLAN IS PERFECTLY CREATED AND THOUGHT OUT.
