Opening Prayer

Father, we come before you and ask you for Wisdom, we ask Holy Spirit that you would open our hearts and fill us. In Jesus Name

Kavanah

I am going to teach you some Hebrew. This is the word for Intent or Concentration. If you really want to hear what God is saying to you, you have to focus on what we are saying about Him. Okay?
Are you ready?

Introduction

Do you know what a Miracle is?
Can anyone give me an example of a Miracle?

Big Story

So Jesus has just preached an amazing message!
Think of like a big conference with over 5000 people!
Now Jesus looks at the crowd and says someone should feed them?
Would you be hungry?
There are over 5000 people! Have you ever seen 5000 people?!
Well God who created the whole universe, created more fish and bread for the people!
He fed them all!

Object Lesson

1. Could you walk on Water?

Sir Isaac Newton was a mathematician and physicist who developed the theory of gravity in the 1600’s. That was a long time ago! One day he was thinking about the forces of nature when he saw an apple (hold up an apple) fall from a tree. (Drop the apple and pretend it’s landed on your foot), Ouch! Gravity is the force that makes everything fall down towards the earth. Without gravity everything would be flying around all over the place. Gravity wasn’t invented by Isaac Newton, he just gave it a name. In the books of the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, called The Gospels, we read all about Jesus doing some impossible miracles. The forces of nature are no match for Jesus. When a huge storm rocked the disciples boat the Bible says, John 6:19 (NIRV), “They saw Jesus coming toward the boat. He was walking on the water.” Because of gravity, we would sink if we tried to walk on water, but for Jesus impossible is nothing. Jesus turned water into wine, made the disciples catch boats full of fish when there were none there before, feed thousands of people with just a few small loaves and fish, took a coin from the mouth of a fish and withered a fig tree with His words alone.

2. Nothing is Impossible with God

Things seem impossible when you’ve never seen them happen before. Before man had landed on the moon most people would have thought it was impossible to fly to the moon at all. If you had told someone in ancient Egypt that one day a man would get in a rocket and walk on the moon, they would have thought you were crazy. Now we’ve seen it done, we know it’s not impossible any more! Luke 1:37 (CEV) “Nothing is impossible for God!” God’s power is greater than anything in the universe. His power is greater than gravity, greater than sickness and greater than fear. What seems impossible in your life right now? It may seem impossible that you will pass that test at school. It may seem impossible that you can learn to ride that two-wheeler bike. It may seem impossible for that one person you’ve been praying for to get to know Jesus for themselves. Life can throw us some tough situations that seem impossible to us. GSP 2.1 Once you see God do something in your life that you thought was impossible, you’ll have faith that nothing is too hard for God, because you’ve seen Him do it! Jesus said that we only need faith the size of a mustard seed to see the impossible happen, Matthew 17:20 (NIV), “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” We can be encouraged by Jesus’ miracles in The Gospels, in The Gospels we see Jesus do the impossible. Now we can believe that God can do the impossible in our lives too!

3. 5000 Hungry Tummies

(Hold up a phone handset to your ear) Hello Jimmy’s pizza, It’s ______ (your name), I’m so hungry! Can you send over a large pepperoni extra cheese pizza stat? Yep as soon as you can. Thanks, bye. When I’m hungry I can barely concentrate. I gotta get something in my hungry tummy! A great crowd of people were following Jesus because they had seen Him performing impossible miracles. Jesus said “Where will we buy bread for all these people to eat?” They couldn’t just order pizza like I did. The disciples found a boy with five small loaves of bread and two small fish, but how could that little lunch feed the more than 5,000 strong crowd? In Jesus’ hands, this would be more than enough. He took the loaves and fish, gave thanks, and gave the food to everyone that was there. John 6:12-13 (NIV) “When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.” Jesus not only fed the thousands and thousands of people, there was even more left over. There was more than enough for each person. God’s possibilities for your life are endless, He has more than enough in store for you. Impossible is nothing. The possibilities are endless with God.
