marriage is the union of a man and a woman as a result of mutual affection and lifelong commitment to build and raise a family

Common myths in marriage

Myth no 1 - Christians will not experience marriage threatening problems

The truth is
all marriages experiences are the same regardless of the people’s beliefs
if anything, our convictions often add to the problems in marriage

Myth no 2 - God gives us the person we will marry

The truth -
it is not always the case
God allows us to choose the person we will marry

Myth no 3 - happiness in marriage depends on compatibility issues

The truth is -
in general God designed the woman to be compatible with the man
due to different upbringing, no two persons are compatible
compatibility is the result of commitment to together in peace and harmony

myth no 1 - love between a man and a woman is romantic love

The truth - it is not so different
God teaches man to love a woman as Christ loved the church
a man’s love should be that of commitment, benevolence, care, faithfulness
a woman’s love should be that of admiration, submission and support, and faithfulness
