everyones eyes were already on him.. the stone he was sitting on was cold as everyones hearts around him. He sat there and time seem to be frozen, he could feel the distress and anxiety coursing through every piece of his being. heartrate was high, but worry was low...he could smell the rebellion, he could just feel the people going down the wrong path towards death, idols were everywhere, blindness was evident.. and arrogance was their drinking water. he felt alone, but then again he wasnt, he knew what he had to do. He had to call these people out. he had to share what he discovered. the thing that changed his life.. he needed a lot of strength.. people had questions.. so he stood up taking a deep breath simultaneously and with help from his savior he began to speak..

Me - i know for me, im in constant need of reminders… with the way the world is going right now.. i felt called to sit there and remind me of something.. something that could change the world, it already has changed my world.. and its going to change things for generations to come.. and thats the gospel of jesus

While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there. A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to debate with him. Some of them asked, “What is this babbler trying to say?” Others remarked, “He seems to be advocating foreign gods.” They said this because Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection. Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, “May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we would like to know what they mean.” (All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.)

For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.

God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

Where shall we begin to survey this vast load of mercies? Were it no more, but that he has given us a world to live in, a life to enjoy, air to breathe in, earth to tread on, fire to warm us, water to cool and cleanse us, clothes to cover us, food to nourish us, sleep to refresh us, houses to shelter us, variety of creatures to serve and delight us. But now, if we add to these, civility of breeding, dearness of friends, competency of estate, degrees of honour, honesty or dignity of vocation, success in employments, domestic comforts, outward peace, good reputation, preservation from dangers, rescue from evils; the load is well mended. If yet, we can keep going, and add due proportion of body, integrity of parts, perfection of senses, strength of nature, mediocrity of health, sufficiency of appetite, vigour of digestion, wholesome temper of seasons, freedom from cares; . If still we shall add to these, the order, and power, and exercise of our inward faculties, enriched with wisdom, art, learning, experience, expressed by a not unhandsome collection, and shall now lay all these together that concern estate, body, mind; how can the axle-tree of the soul but crack under the load of these favours?
