EBENEZER

Jesus expects us to have faith for today because of what happened yesterday
Remember that others don’t have what you do
There are people who are crippled, bound to wheel chair, blind, deaf or mentally retarded
There are people who are in jail or hospital; agony of loneliness
There are people who suffer not because of obesity but of hunger and thirst
Did you deserve to have what you enjoy? Did they deserve what they suffer?

3 billion – live in fear of being killed
75% of world doesn’t have enough water, food or clothing
500 million of world is during war, loneliness of jail or in agony of hunger
8% of world has a bank account and extra money in it
2.2 billion - children in the world
1 billion live in poverty
640 million without adequate shelter (1 in 3)
400 million with no access to safe water (1 in 5)
270 million with no access to health services (1 in 7)
121 million – without education
10.6 million - died in 2003 before they reached the age of 5
1.4 million - die each year from lack of access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation
Every year 15 million children die of hunger
Every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger
3 billion people in the world today struggle to survive on US$2/day.
More Christians died for their faith in the twentieth century than at any other time in history
160,000 believers were martyred in 1996 and countless others were subjected to unimaginable horrors
There are close to 100 million martyrs in this so-called "modern" 20th century
This year 160,000 believers will die at the hands of their oppressors
This year 200 million will be persecuted, arrested, tortured, beaten or jailed
In many nations it is illegal to own a Bible, share your faith, change your faith or allow children under 18 to attend a religious service
