As we think about future building plans, we may wonder does God even care about the building we worship in. In this message we will look at what has happened in the past and the message God gave Haggai for the Jews and for us.

“Does God Care About a Building?’”

Haggai 1:1-11

1) Jesus is our High Priest and the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer.

Haggai 1:1

2) It was in 586 B.C. that Jerusalem was overtaken by the Babylonians and the Jews were taken into captivity.

Haggai 1:2

3) About 18 years had passed from when the Jews had returned to Jerusalem and when they had stopped rebuilding the Temple.

Haggai 1:3-4

4) The focus was upon what they wanted, and their own comfort and they neglected God’s Temple.

Haggai 1:5-6

5) They planted much but harvested little. Again, who increases the crop? God.

6) Haggai says your wallet has holes in it, meaning you don’t know where all the money goes.

Haggai 1:7-8

7) God is saying rebuild the Temple so people come together to worship. It brings God pleasure and glory.
