Let it not be about us, but about Jesus.
May our testimonies boast of the glories of God, and the way that He has worked in us.
Parts of a testimony
What my life was like before Christ.
Not horror stories, just to let them know, you were a sinner.
How I realized I needed Christ
What are the questions that came into your mind.
They might have those same questions.
What were circumstances that made you question eternity.
Death in the family.
Life altering predicament.
How I committed my life to Christ
Everyone must come the crossroads where you die to self and life for God.
What difference has it made in my life
This should be the largest part of your testimony.
Brag about God, what has He done!!
Essentials to the gospel message
God created us to be in relationship with Him.
Genesis 1:26, we were created in the image of God
This means that we were created to be in communion with God
Genesis 1:31
Man along with all of creation was created very good.
Man used to have fellowship with God in the garden.
We don’t have that relationship becasue of sin.
Emphasize the brokenness of man.
That relationship is devastated because of us.
Jesus made it possible with His life, death, and resurrection to have that relationship with God restored.
God is loving, but God is just.
Through the cross His love and justice meet.
This relationship is based on faith.
We must repent of sins, belief in Jesus, and receive Him as Lord
Romans Road
Romans 3:23
The bible is stating that no one is exempt from sin.
All have committed it, all are judged guilty before God for it.
Romans 6:23
The payment for that sin, is death.
Romans 5:8
While we were enemies of God’s, Christ loved us enough to die, to reconcile us to Him.
Romans 10:9-10
No penance, you don’t pay for your sin, God already did that.
We must believe, believe what God has done for you.
At that point we are as good as a demon, for even they believe.
Jesus is Lord.
What He says goes.
We must live for Him.
Romans 10:13
The assurance, you will be saved when you are committed to Jesus.
Your Responsibility
These sermons on evangelism weren’t just so you could sit here and be entertained for an hour, or feel good on Sunday mornings.
Your job is to tell.
There are people going to hell outside of those doors.
Are you strong enough to do the will of God, and go out for the harvest.
