Upon receiving a bad report about the conditions of those who had returned to Judah and the city of Jerusalem, Nehemiah is overcome with grief and seeks God. His heart is broken for his people and so he does the best and only thing he can do, he prays. As we encounter trials, affliction, or evil, we must respond by entering into seasons of prayer, and confession, as well as recalling the character and promises of God. This is the best way to rebuild a broken faith is in prayer, confession and hope in Jesus.
