Romans 12:1-8 Stephen Caswell © 2004 Masters Or Servants? Some people love to keep cats as pets and others keep dogs, a few keep both. People feel very strongly about their own preference. A friend of mine said that Cats have Servants, while Dogs have Masters. Some Christians think that they should be…
Galatians 5:22-23 In one of his meetings, D.L. Moody was explaining to his audience the truth that we cannot bring about spiritual changes in our lives by our own strength. He demonstrated the principal like this: “Tell me,” he said to his audience, “how can I get the air out of the tumbler I have in…
The Jew in Paul’s day would have really struggled with the Law condemning them. But Paul clarifies that the problem is not the Law, but our sin nature. Did You Say Sacrifice? Sacrifice is a word that is pretty far from most of our minds. That doesn’t mean we haven’t had to sacrifice from time to time. Maybe especially in this time, where we have sacrificed a part of our beloved freedom, if we are responsible to others. To protect those around us we…
COVID-19 Series Update: The last few weeks I’ve been covering topics that I felt were important for us to be reminded of. Being away from church has an effect. Being finite people, is it possible for us to always remember what we should remember to the degree that we should remember it. And when we are…
Turn to 1 Peter 1 There seems to be a perception about God and the Church in our society - that God and the Church exist primarily to fix problems. “If God’s is so powerful, and He can fix all my problems, then He should fix all my problems and the problems of the world” - or so goes the idea. Of course…
