What matters to our Master? 1. Righteousness matters (vs. 17-20). 2. Relationships matter (vs. 22-24). 3. Reconciliation matters (vs. 23-26).

How can we overcome our family problems? 1. Seek help from the Healer (vs. 1-2). 2. Turn away from the hardness in our hearts (vs. 3-8). 3. Let God set the standards for our homes (vs. 4-9). 4. Don't be overwhelmed by the obstacles (vs. 10). 5. Be ready to receive God's plan for your life (vs. 11-12).

Jesus Christ wants to give us heavenly happiness! That's why: 1. He gives us the Gospel (Matt 4:23). 2. He confirms His compassion (Matt 4:23-24). 3. He teaches us about heavenly happiness (Matt 4:25-5:4).

Jesus wants us to... 1. Learn the value of our lives (vs. 13a). 2. Listen to His warning about a diluted life (vs. 13). 3. Let the Savior's light shine through us (vs. 14-16). 4. Live to give glory to God (vs. 16).

Jesus shows us where to find heavenly happiness: 1. We can find it in a humble heart (vs. 3). 2. We can find it in a hurting heart (vs. 4). 3. We can find it in a meek heart (vs. 5). 4. We can find it in a hungry, thirsty heart (vs. 6). 5. We can find it in a merciful heart (vs. 7).

God calls us to the highest standards. 1. Always be believable (vs. 33-37). 2. Go beyond what is expected of us (vs. 38-42). 3. Make sure you belong to the Father's family (vs. 43-48).

Jesus teaches us here that true happiness: 1. comes from having a pure heart (vs. 8). 2. comes from being a peacemaker (vs. 9). 3. can even come from being persecuted (vs. 10-12).

In the second week of our series through the Sermon on the Mount we complete our introduction by considering two principles which must guide our study of the sermon; do a quick overview of its parts and end with three takeaways from today's teaching.

The Pharisees have accused Jesus of trying to nullify the Law of Moses. Jesus is teaching that the Message of the Kingdom Gospel, which is Messianic, is superior and fulfills what Moses wrote about. The issue will be this; how do the Jewish people receive this Message of the Kingdom Gospel and the great compassion that is contains?
