Paul's Letter to the Galatian Churches
Introduction Political & economical freedom are important, but don't bring true freedom. Freedom of the will which philosophers discuss is also a form of freedom that we enjoy, yet it doesn't bring true freedom. The freedom discussed by Paul in Galatians 5 , is a special kind of freedom, a freedom that…
Where do we start? 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever. What do we tend to fear? The unknown…
Galatians: SOAR! Faith Without Limits "The Gospel, Grace, Freedom"
I have always enjoyed watching shows or movies with a good courtroom plot. Growing up Matlock was one of my favorites! The way he handled himself in the courtroom was just fun to watch... Paul himself was one who was comfortable in a courtroom... A skilled and well trained man in law (a pharisee) Skilled…

God’s Plans Revealed in Our Plans I am not suggesting that God plans are secondary to our plans. I am saying that God’s plans are easier to see when we look at the past. In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it…
We talk a lot about Law and Grace. For the Christian, we live under Grace and not under the Law, but we often seem to put ourselves under the LAW. 14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. This verse…

Freedom: 1959 was the year of my birth – I am a child of the 60’s! Although I was just a child, there was a great social movement by youth in the 1960’s – a reaction against what they perceived to be the failure of the older generation that had led to two world wars, corruption, oppression and a world…

Galatians 3: 26-29
The Galatians have been told that to truly be God's children, they have to become children of Abraham. But the fallacy of the false teachers was forgetting that Abraham had two circumcised sons and that only one of them was free. In our text Paul gives an historical, an allegorical, and an applicational argument against legalism and the religion of works, calling believers everywhere to stand firm in the freedom Christ bought us with his blood!

Freedom: Book of Galatians
History Lesson Learning from history helps us to learn so not to repeat itself or to replicate it so we can have the results they who came before had. Tonight may we learn from some history, because that is what Paul uses in allegorical form to make his next defense. Think back to when you children were…

God is less concerned with you coming out and more concerned with you going in—that is, into His promise. Many view the book of Exodus as a story of salvation FROM Egypt (and that thought that is true); however, salvation isn't simply the process of coming out, it is the process of going in. Removing a person from a place of torment and temptation has less of an effect than transforming the mind from being tormented or tempted. God is working to bring us into a greater relationship and fellowship with Him. Relationship and fellowship is TRUE salvation. Let's see this through the lens of Exodus.

1 I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything, 2 but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father. 3 In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. 4…

It is a truth that every public speaker needs to accept: people are more apt to remember your illustrations than your carefully reasoned arguments. The challenge is to come up with an illustration that conveys the truth of your argument. It happens all the time. I make an offhand reference during a message…
