Jesus’s coming to earth changed everything. His coming disrupted the way things were, never to be the same. He fulfilled thousands of scriptures in his 3-1/2 years on earth.

How we view the world really matters. When we look at life through the lens of faith—faith in Jesus and what he has done, what he is doing, and what he will do—it changes everything.

Why is the Bible encouraging people today to rejoice in this dark age? Key scripture: Psalm 28:7 The Lord protects and de-fends me, I trust in Him. He gives me help and makes me glad, I praise Him with joyful songs.

The beloved Psalm 139 reminds us that no matter how alone we might feel, our Heavenly Father knows us more deeply than we even know ourselves.

God’s armor as described in Ephesians 6 is to be worn not as art of battle, but as a part of daily life. It’s second-hand since Jesus wears it first, bring forth God’s epic plan of salvation and inviting us to wear it too.

Jesus offers the “Big Reveal” to his hometown crowd in Nazareth. His answers to the questions Who is the deliverer? Who will be delivered? and What will that look like? are for everyone.

God isn’t interested in blaming or shaming to change our behaviour. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit reached out to humanity in loving sacrifice, “once for all,” so that we could be transformed by love and then extend that transforming love to one another.

Jesus, Lord of our life, must be preeminent not just prominent in everything.

Jesus, our High Priest came to earth and humbly lived a sinless life. Now he is our perfect leader forever

God laid down his life for us so we need to love one another

Let’s take a closer look at Jesus’ daily ministry as he approaches Jerusalem, anticipating his impending death. Jesus’ compassion for those who would nail him to the cross inspires us as he invites to participate in his ongoing ministry even today.

We have been created in the image of God

This is “Ascension Sunday,” when we remember Jesus going up in the clouds to his Father in heaven. Why is this event important for us?

Today’s sermon text is found in Luke 9:51-62. In this passage we see Jesus’ followers wrestling with their desires to be right, to do good, and to be thought of as good by their culture. We struggle with the same desires today as 21st century Jesus followers.

Today most of the imagery around us focuses on Jesus first coming, but as believers should we not focus also on celebrating Jesus second coming? Lets talk about this today.

Today we remember the story of Mary Magdalene at Jesus’ tomb and watch her grief turn to joy as her questions about Jesus’ death are answered, while at the same time new questions arise about what it means to serve a risen Savior. What do you do with your hard questions?

Jesus is our shepherd who is kind to us not because we deserve it, but because he is good. We need to be merciful, kind and loving because of who we are in him.

From the creation of the world, humanity has fallen short of living the life God intended for us. God, in the ultimate act of love, sent his only Son to take on flesh and blood and enter our fallen world. This Son, Jesus, died for all who have lived and was resurrected from the dead. Our Savior give us hope for now and for eternity.
