The Church at Work

Work is a Sacred Struggle. It’s a struggle because work was cursed but work itself isn’t a curse, it’s a gift from God and our gift to others. The curse came because humans wanted to be like God, to be the center and source of order. There is no room in that sacred space (Eden) for two sources of wisdom and order, but through Jesus God has made his dwelling in his new sacred space (the church). He made us sacred by cleansing our impurity with his sacrifice.
God’s great mercy became a transforming reality through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This mercy is a result of God’s love for us, and this love invites us to live differently in the present. We are to be a living sacrifice that no longer conforms to the patterns of the world. The world around us is divisive, deceptive, selfish, angry, and foolish.Pastor Aaron will preach how we must renew the way we think, and in doing so, we will discover God’s will for us in the present.
Some people don't trust God because they don't read the Bible. "Why would God allow suffering and pain?" Some people don't trust God because they do. "Why would God command someone to cause suffering and cause them pain?" We'll tackle the ultimate test that God puts before Abraham. "Take your beloved son and offer him as a burnt offering" Genesis 22 is before us to test our own trust in God as well.
