Paul writes that the new covenant is even more glorious than the old. Paul asserts that God transforms those who are in Christ from one degree of glory to another. Paul affirms that as God turns our gaze to His glory, God makes us more like Him. Does such hope in God through Christ make you bold? Does the glory of God leave you overwhelmed? Are you awestruck before God? Do you long to know God more fully? Do you turn your gaze to God more completely?

God’s timing is perfect. He works in amazing ways to bring people and events together for His glory. God sends His Son in the fullness of time. By His wisdom and might, God brings people face to face with Jesus. He shows them His salvation in His Son. Like Simeon, may we remain attentive to God’s work among us. May we live righteous and devout lives for Him. May we continue to walk by God’s Spirit. May we behold the glory of God in Jesus. May we see Jesus for who He is.

Keep looking to the LORD God who looks upon you. He knows those who fear Him, who put their hope in His steadfast love. Those who know the LORD wait upon Him. They know that He is their help. He is their shield. Their heart is glad in Him, because they trust in His holy name. They cry out to Him, asking that His steadfast love be upon them, even as they hope in Him.

When we go through troubles for the sake of the gospel, God gives us His strength. He is with us. He comes alongside us. Why? First, He comforts us so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction. We come alongside others in their time of hurt. Further, He leads us to rely on Him more and more as we set our hope on Him who raises the dead. Finally, He leads us to give Him our praise and prayers. We praise God for His help, and we pray to God for His help.
