Adjusting our expectations is an important and emotionally intelligent skill to have. We can warn others of the need to lower their expectations, or we sense a need to manage our own. But as a follower of Jesus, our expectations need to create space for God's surprises. Our expectations direct our attempting... the actions that move us into God's future.
