Psalm 18 is a wonderful summary of praise and thanksgiving for God’s protection over the course of David’s life. The Psalm is repeated nearly identical in 2 Samuel 22. Psalm 18 recounts God’s protection and the reason for God’s protection with beautiful imagery – calling God his strength, rock, and fortress.
It may seem odd to be talking about the Day of the Lord on Father’s day, but as I considered whether to stay on our series about Understanding Prophecy, or switching to a special message for Father’s Day, I thought that the Day of the Lord actually does fit. How? Well, just wait, and I will see if I…

A God Ready to Forgive. What wonderful words to hear? Ezra confesses that God is always ready to forgive and then describes the character of God that makes him ready to forgive. The following words are some of the most comforting words found in our Bibles. We so often struggle with God’s love. When we sin – we wonder if God loves us. When we suffer – we wonder if God loves us. Yet this passage should clear any doubt. God always loves and forgives those who seek his name.

Introduction Through this quarter on Sunday nights we are going to be taking a look at what the Bible says about our mind. Everyday we all use our minds. Jeff Brown • Sermon • • 299 views • 18:59
“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15). He did it not mainly by his teaching, but by his dying. “Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3) and this is the central message of the Gospel.
Over the past week we have been looking at some key issues which we need to grasp in order to properly Understand Prophecy - that is, what God has revealed to us about what is yet to come. Last week, we were looking at the topic, The Day of the Lord. Our discussion today flows right out of that topic,…
Years ago when I was going through seminary- along with going to school I also worked as a security guard to help pay for my education. It was an awful schedule. I was working third shift, then going directly to school in the morning and then sleeping during the afternoon. So I would go to work at 10:30…
The Gospel of Luke
Jesus tells us he comes not to bring peace but division - division because hypocrites reject his warning about the judgement to come. And yet his warning is also filled with hope since he himself will pay the debt that we could never pay.
2 Peter: Spiritual Maturity... Knowledge, Grace, & Growth
The Rapture is the next big event in God’s Plan... Peter takes some time at the end of his letter to REMIND them of some things they know, and to tell them why this is important… 2 Peter 3:9-16 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for…

Life in a fallen world always includes suffering and joy. God’s favor does not exclude suffering, but it promises hope. David describes in Psalm 30 that he was faced with possible death (sheol). (v. 3) It likely was related to his own sin. (v. 5) But God always ultimately turns his disfavor (anger) into favor. Our suffering into joy. (v. 5, 11-12) This means that God is always a constant merciful help in our lives.

Why did Jesus come? It is a kind of special Sunday today – because it is Christmas! And it is kind of a special Christmas because this year it falls on a Sunday; so, we can meet together and celebrate Jesus’ birth! I know, we could do that any year – in fact when I was a kid we did. The fellowship I…
Romans: The Righteous Shall Live By Faith
God's wrath is revealed due to mankind's exchanging of truth for lies; the result is sin and destruction.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ promises us many truths. Since the cross is the decisive victory over sin, death, and Satan we get to enjoy wonderful riches in Christ. However, in many ways we wait until the day when he returns and the final judgement to fully be able to appreciate those wonderful riches. Until then, the natural effect of waiting is doubt whether those riches will ever come. Paul anticipates this doubt and teaches us how we can be confident that we are saved from the final judgement.

Come to Beth-el, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years: 5 And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord…

God is glorified in the condemnation of the wicked and He is glorified in the salvation of His people. We must understand both His wrath and His love, in harmony with each other, in order to understand God’s true glory.
