Psalm 18 is a wonderful summary of praise and thanksgiving for God’s protection over the course of David’s life. The Psalm is repeated nearly identical in 2 Samuel 22. Psalm 18 recounts God’s protection and the reason for God’s protection with beautiful imagery – calling God his strength, rock, and fortress.

To affirm that while we may rethink or rescind many decisions, we should hold fast to our decision to serve God.

David declared God's goodness and love to Israel in 1 Ch 16:34. This became a national anthem for Israel down through the ages.

A God Ready to Forgive. What wonderful words to hear? Ezra confesses that God is always ready to forgive and then describes the character of God that makes him ready to forgive. Nahum 2-3 continues the declaration of God's vengeance against Nineveh because of his unconditional love to Israel. In that sense, Nahum is a love letter to God's people. As we consider the historical and prophetic parallels found in Nahum - we learn that God has magnificent love, wisdom, power, and justice. The story of Nineveh should encourage us that our God is the only one who can meet our needs. All other love, wisdom, power, and justice pale in comparison to the magnificence of God displayed in Nahum 2-3.
