As a young Christian, new to the faith, Genesis 3:9, 11a puzzled me; God was asking questions as if He did not know the answers. It would take many years before I understood what God was doing, and by then, I had moved on to more puzzling and not so puzzling Scriptures. Here is how God revealed what…

By Pastor Glenn Pease When I was a shoeshine boy back in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1945, I remember being down town when suddenly horns began to blow, bells ring, whistles shriek, and people everywhere in the streets, and stores began to sing, hug, laugh, and shout. Paper began flying from the windows…

22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle…
Isaiah 53 showed in graphic form the horrible pain and suffering Jesus would go through headed to the cross. 700 years before Jesus walked the earth , Isaiah predicted that he would come as a sacrifice for our sin, even though most people would not believe it. Even today, the message of the cross is…

Why did Jesus come? It is a kind of special Sunday today – because it is Christmas! And it is kind of a special Christmas because this year it falls on a Sunday; so, we can meet together and celebrate Jesus’ birth! I know, we could do that any year – in fact when I was a kid we did. The fellowship I…
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you…

About six years ago, in a conversation about temptation and testing, a family member asked me, “How do you know when something is a temptation and when it is a test?” I responded, “It is a temptation when it wants to turn you away from God and a test when it is to strengthen your faith.” However, my…

This week Pastor Alex continued the series "Graduate in the Spirit". Pastor Alex preached from Mark 5:1-20, talking about the demon possessed man in Gerasa. Pastor Alex brought forth a two-fold sermon on Deliverance. One from the perspective of the sinner and the other from the perspective of the saint. Pastor Alex said two reasons it's hard for sinners to truly get delivered. One reason is because of the environment and people they surround themselves with. The other reason is because the evil spirits on the inside are stronger than the person. The second part of the sermon dealing with the saints, Pastor Alex dealt with the question, "Why do I still feel trapped by the devil even why I'm doing everything right?" Pastor Alex then refered to Job, Paul and Silas, and Jesus Christ as examples of people who did nothing wrong, but was still trapped and imprisoned by the enemy. Listen and Be Blessed!

Hope can be a very powerful thing. True hope isn't just wishful thinking but a longing and expectation based in God who cannot lie. Simeon's testimony of Christ helps us see that hope in God is satisfying.
Picture with me this morning, a group of soldiers- a battalion of troops- they have been engaged in combat for quite some time. They are seasoned, weathered, they have had their fair share of conflict. Leading these men is a highly respected, a very wise, and an overwhelmingly successful general. Now…

"Joy to the World" Isaiah 9.1-7 Last week, we investigated the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. We took a closer look at the prophecy from Isaiah 7.14 and it's fulfillment of the account in Matthew 1. We were reminded of the miraculous birth that could only be carried out by God himself. I think that it…
