Sometimes we struggle with being "people-pleasers" . We want to be accepted or liked by the people around us. We can end up having a "fear of man" where our actions are based on what we think will make others like us more. But God is glorious. That means we don't have to fear other people. The begining of all wisdom is the fear of God. Because Solomon feared God God honored him and told him he could get whatever he wanted and Solomon asked for wisdom, so God made him the wisest that ever been or will be. So we cannot be as wise as him but we can ask for a portion. God wants us to be wise and says if we lack wisdom we can ask him for it.
