El Amor de Dios
Wilfor Galindo Reyes • Sermon • • 6,242 views
¿Amas al mundo? ¿Amas a Dios?. Jesucristo el Señor dijo: no podemos serviria dos señores, porque agradaremos al uno y aborreceremos al otro. Reflexionemos seriamente sí estoy con un pie en el mundo amandole y con un pie en Dios, creyendo que también le amo.
The deepest possible expression of God’s character. Though God loves all people, he is especially committed to sacrificial, loyal relationships with his people.

Last week, we looked at John 13:1-17 , and Jesus washing his disciples’ feet. We saw how Jesus knew, and then Jesus loved. Actually, we stopped in the middle of the scene, and today we want to finish the scene. Jesus has just washed his disciples’ feet, and returned to the table. He tells them that they…
Jude: Contending for the Faith
Casey Lewis • Sermon • • 11 views
Even though we are called and kept, we have a faith for which we all are to contend because false teachers are a reality and can creep into the church. // We should contend for the faith because the faith is supremely valuable and it is necessary in order to keep ourselves in the love of God.

As Christians, we need to have our priorities line up with God's priorities. Our focus in life needs to be on what God is focused on. One of the great priorities of the Gospel is to love one another as Christ loved us.
Growing Together: Gospel of John

Jesus, the Master of the household, is about to leave (crucifiction, resurrection, assension). He is continuing to instructing his disciples how the household is to function in regard to their work and their ethic ('household code of conduct'). These work together, with the 'Spirit' of the household in producing the culture and reputation of the household. The culture or 'spirit' of any 'household' or organisation will always follow the spirit of its head or leader. Last time (from John 14:1-22) we saw that the Spirit, ethic and culture of the household of God, under the headship of Christ is one of trust, of truth, of love, of life-giving relationships and a life-giving purpose. This week, we will see that Jesus added to that, 1) 'watchfulness' (i.e. obedience, submission, gaurdianship and fulfilment, 2) holiness (i.e. the 'Holy Spirit'), and 3) peace.

13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Scripture Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this…
