Israel is God’s chosen people and most of them are perishing, cut off from the Savior, Jesus Christ. And the reason it is a crisis for you, and not just for Jews, is that, if God’s promises to Israel do not hold true, then there is no reason to think his promises to you will hold true.

It seems to many that God’s love is strong at times and nearly imperceptible at others. This notion is based on a false standard. It is to judge the quality of God’s love by our experience of it rather than his affirmation of it. In Malachi’s day Israel took this error to a new level judging God’s affirmation by their experience. God affirmed his love for them and they required evidence. The very ground of our hope in Christ for a glorious future is the unchanging quality of God’s love.
