Peter writes to encourage them to look the blessed hope of Jesus Christ in their struggle. Peter described process of salvation in 1 Peter 1:1-2. Peter described the greater riches of our salvation in 1 Peter 1:3-5. Peter gave us the purpose of trials in 1 Peter 1:6-9. In 1 Peter 1:10-12 he reminds them that they are a privilaged generation to know the Christ. Likewise, we are privilaged because through the Gospels we know Christ.

There are many words that are used to describe the person and character of God. One of those terms by which God describes Himself is merciful. On the occasion when Moses asked to see God’s glory: And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord , the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering,…
Good afternoon. Today I went to talk about prophecy. For me one of the wonders of the Bible is that about 1/4 of it is prophecy. This raises some interesting questions like: Have any of them come to pass? and Are there still prophecies yet unfulfilled? Well, the test of the whether there are prophecies…

The OT points ahead to the person and ministry of Jesus Christ. Christ’s fulfilment of OT prophecy is often noted by NT writers as a demonstration of God’s faithfulness to his promises of salvation and as confirmation of the divine authority of Jesus Christ.
Pentecost is in fulfillment of an Old Testament feast, the giving of the law at Sinai, ritual temple cleansing, the reversal of Babel and every Holy Spirit moment in judges, prophets and kings. And yet it is not an end but a beginning: the coming of the Holy Spirit in power to all believers. This is God working ALL the things together... and that Same God and Same Spirit have been working in us. We ask "what's next" and God answers "suddenly..."

According to the Canadian Bible Forum, in 1996, 21% of the Canadian population engaged with the Bible on a weekly basis. Psalm 22:1-19 The fact that this song is written by David is not debated, however, there are those who believe it is autobiographical and not a Messianic Psalm. The evidence against such view is overwhelming. Though the scripture contains volumes of material written by David or about David, there is…

As Christians, we need to be certain that the Bible is God's word. One of the things God has placed in the Bible to help us know it is His word are prophetic statements. God tells us what will happen, and it happens just like He said it would. God provided a number of prophecies about the Messiah coming. We can look at how those came true and know that the Bible is, in fact, God's word.
