Ezra begins to praise God for his blessings upon Israel. Nehemiah 9:9-15 describes how God blessed Israel in the Exodus, Wilderness, and with the Promised Land. This prayer describes God’s character in terms that are familiar across the Old Testament. They coincide with the blessings that Christians receive in the NT. Many times we believe God’s blessing means no suffering. But when we examine how God blessed Israel and continues bless Christians – that is not the case.
