This morning service and sermon kicks off the Advent season and we take time to explore the biblical idea of hope. We put hope in many things (or in many people!) but the Bible encourages us to put our hope in Jesus. This isn't an optimisitic belief that everything really is good, but a hope based on what God has already done. Please note that this week's sermon included a video. However, due to copyright issues, the video has been edited out of this sermon recording (which, admittedly, causes a slight "hiccup" in the audio). If you'd like to watch the video you can find it (and other Advent videos) on the BIble Project website: https://thebibleproject.com/explore/the-advent-series/
Why did the prophets prphesy and what did they think about their own prophecies? Is the Old Testament written for New Testament believers? Cooper answers both of these questions in this weeks sermons.
