We all want certainty concerning the things we've been taught and believe. That's exactly why Luke wrote his account of Jesus. So we are going on a journey through Luke's Gospel, walking with Jesus. The way Luke arranges the eyewitness testimony that he investigated so thoroughly powerfully portrays Jesus as willing to journey with people, whether they be scared, doubting, confused or unsure about him.

Psalms are filled with truth that God's people actually sung together, songs of hope based on the truth about God and what it means to follow Him in this life. These realities are amplified even more in the person of Jesus so that we as His followers can be full of hope, hope that makes our souls sing.

The Gospel of Matthew is wonderfully complex and rich. It is structured around 5 major teaching blocks of Jesus where he is shown as the new teacher of God's people. There is also a strong focus on Jesus fulfilling many Old Testament prophecies and promises, hence so many quotations in Matthew. Jesus is also shown as greater than many OT figures, as Immanuel (God with us) and the King of God's new kingdom. To keep it simple we've named our series JESUS: the king who saves.

In our busy world we simply don’t stop enough to consider life. We don’t slow down to ask the big questions, to do some ‘soul searching’. When COVID hit us we were forced to do this. What did we find? Were our questions answered? Maybe we’re still searching and the reality is we always have been and always will be. In this series we will hear from a man who says "I applied my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom all that is done under heaven" (1:13).

The spirit of faith that has always been present in God's people is seen in them speak about their belief (2 Cor. 4:13). True followers of Jesus don't have a disconnect between what they believe and what they say. Their life and doctrine match up. This is very difficult given the many pressures Christians face today. We will look at 5 amazing truths that should help us live and speak boldly for Jesus.

Jesus, after rising from the dead, said to his disciples “as the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you” (John 20:21). The book of Acts looks at these ‘sent ones’ and how the risen and ascended Lord Jesus continued to work and teach through them. We, too, are sent ones who are taking the good news of Jesus to the ends of the earth with the same risen Jesus working through us. May we learn much from the acts of the risen Lord Jesus through his new people as we are sent out as his witnesses.
